Centering Prayer: God is love: The Heart of all Creation
With Catherine Crews, PhD and Fr. Jos Tharakan
July 27 - 30, 2017
“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
Everything in the universe–everything our senses observe and technology uncovers at the highest level of infinitude and the deepest levels of the infinitesimal–is prophetic witness of the Divine.
Thomas Keating, God is Love
Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer that helps open our hearts and minds to consent to God’s presence and action in our lives. This retreat will include periods of Centering Prayer, teachings by Thomas Keating on DVD, and private time for rest, study, and prayer. We will keep silence apart from discussions during teaching. There will be an opportunity for instruction for those new to this prayer practice. All are welcome.
Catherine has practiced Centering Prayer since 2005 and is commissioned by Contemplative Outreach to teach Centering Prayer. She is a Clinical Psychologist, now retired from practice and teaching. For spiritual renewal she practices Centering Prayer, Healing Prayer, and attends the Holy Eucharist. She has attended retreats at St. Benedict Monastery in Snowmass, CO and St. Scholastica Monastery in Fort Smith, AR, and made spiritual pilgrimages to India. She serves on the board of the House Of Blessings.
